Algeria moves to solar power

According to the Algerian daily El Watan, Algeria has the largest solar potential of the entire Mediterranean basin.
The proof has been provided by the German Space Agency (ASA), which was assessed by satellites. The England Features seem unequivocal. The potential is thus estimated at 169, 440 tera-watt hours / year (TWH / year) for solar thermal and 13.9 TWH / year for solar photovoltaic.
Algeria is currently contemplating on benefits that might derive from a strong development of its solar energy. This is one of sub-Saharan countries with the highest rate of sunshine, and if that country decided to equip, it would make it the largest producer of solar energy in the Mediterranean basin...
This is definitely a move in the right direction, and will hopefully encourage other North African oil producing countries to follow Algeria’s lead.
